PRISON BREAK - What is FOX doing???

I just read a post from TVguide online stating that Fox will run Prison Break to a "fall finale" on Nov 28th and then show the remaining 9 episodes some time later in the season.

One can only assume they are going to break out of prison on the 28th holding with the cliffhanger and then bringing it back next year with them outside trying to bring down the bad guys..

Is this another show suicide from Fox.. I mean the show just returned from the baseball break to a 14% ratings rise and now this. i'm sure the die hard fans of the show won't be lost but it is the extra people who watch that guarentee a show's success.

Oh well it was fun whilst it lasted.

#140 - The Magnificent Seven (1960)
A western reworking of the Japanese film 'The Seven Samurai' with an all-star cast headed up by Steve McQueen, Yul Bryner, James Coburn and Charles Bronson. This is the best of the 60s ensemble action flicks.

Shrek and Donkey return to the big screen in an animated movie that is often funnier than any live action one. This time they take you on a fairytale adventure to meet the In-Laws.

More Stanley Kubrick version then anything to do with the Stephen King novel. A relentless psychological horror centered around a power performance from Jack Nicholson.

The perfect Christmas movie. James Stewart is the man who is shown by an angel how life would have been if he had not existed. Touching and funny. Truly timeless.

A really fantastic indie film. It is the story of a paranoid mathematitcian and his search for the key number that will unlock all the patterns of the universe.

#132 - X2: X-Men United (2003)
A sequel that beats the original. More action, more drama and best of all more X-Men. The plot delves deeper into the mythology bringing in great characters like Nightcrawler and Lady Deathstrike.

#131 - Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (1990)
Tim Roth and Gary Oldman are two minor characters from Shakespeare's "Hamlet" and in Tom Stoppard's funny and insightful screenplay they move in and out unaware of their scripted lives.

OZARK'S TOP 250 MOVIES: #150-#141

#150 - Deliverance (1972)
A sharp and scary tale of four friends on a canoing trip that goes horribly wrong when they comes across some backwoods folks. Wonderfully shot with an eye for the beauty of the outdoors backed with the terror of the unknown.

#149 - Django (1966)
A man drags a coffin behind him. This man is Django. This is the setup for this spaghetti western that inspired a hoard of sequels, remakes and homages. What is in the coffin? It really pays off to find out.

#148 - Night of the Hunter (1955)
One of the darkest film noirs out of Hollywood. Robert Mitchum is the creepy criminal posing as a preacher who is stalking two children who know the location of a cache of money. A real psychological horror story without really being horror. A classic.

#147 - Arsenic and Old Lace (1944)
Frank Capra's pitch black comedy about a drama critic (Cary Grant) who finds out his sweet old aunts have been killing lonely old gentlemen. This is a truly funny movie, set the whole time in the home of the aunts.

#146 - Scarface (1983)
"Say hello to my little friend!!" Al Pacino plays coke-snorting druglord Tony 'Scarface' Montana perfectly, he is over the top, brash and extremely violent. Brian De Palma tight direction carries us through the story of Montana's rise and eventual fall.

#145 - Lost in Translation (2003)
Bill Murray is incredible. Scarlett Johanssen is gorguous. Together they make one of the most touching screen couples of all time. Set against the neon backdrop of Tokyo they are in place where they can only really communicate with one another.

#144 - Get Shorty (1995)
Based on Elmore Leonard's novel. John Travolta is the Miami mobster who goes to LA to pick up on a debt only to end wanting to stay and become part of the movie business. Downright hilarious and well written.

#143 - Bonnie and Clyde (1967)
A very controversial film in it's day the violence of this true story is common in modern cinema but back then it really potrayed the lives of the famous bank robbers as they really were. Out of place but always excellent.

#142 - Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)
The guy that everyone wanted to be like. Matthew Broderick is the ultimate cool kid, faking being sick, stealing his best friend's father's Ferrari and driving into Chicago for the day. Plus he is dating Mia Sara. Then he kicked the shit out of Godzilla.

OZARK'S WORST 20 MOVIES: #10-#1

#10 - Captain America (1991)
The most laughable of all the Marvel comic book adaptation, makes Elektra look like oscar winning material. What on earth were they thinking?

#9 - Body of Evidence (1993)
Not really a film more a reason to have Madonna to take her clothes off and have Willem Dafoe to go diving where many men have gone before. Watch Basic Instinct instead.

#8 - Spice World (1997)
Tell what you want, what you really, really want!!! For you just to fuck off.

#7 - Barb Wire (1996)
I can say one thing for this movie it starts well with the opening credits rolling over a topless Pamela Anderson as she swings in shower of water. And then the film actually begins.

#6 - From Justin to Kelly (2003)
What is going from Justin to Kelly? Maybe she is sucking the complete lack of talent out of him. And a big question where is Justin now? I hear he is serving up another big hit of a Big Mac and fries.

#5 - Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 (2000)
John Travolta. Scienctologist. Sci-fi epic. Oh dear.

#4 - GI Jane (1997)
I am so disappointed in Ridley Scott that he would turn such crap as this. So glad it has all been up hill for him since. Demi Moore on the other hand would happy to star in another movie of such quality.

#3 - Gigli (2003)
Lack of chemistry. Awful dialogue. Even worse acting. Not funny.

#2 - Virtuosity (1995)
Virtuatrocity. I mean you have Denzel and Russell Crowe in a movie together, what could go wrong. Just about everything.

#1 - The Watcher (2000)
Keanu Reeves is a serial killer. Need I go on.

Can't you see...

I'M ON THE FUCKING PHONE

At least that's what the voice in my head says.... I am standing here, with a PHONE to my ear talking and yet still someone comes up and starts asking a question. So i completely miss what the person who just called me, on the PHONE, asked me. Morons.

TV - What I'm watching....

MONDAY:
Prison Break (Fox) - Just picked up for a full season it has had a couple of weeks of for baseball, but is back soon. Great show, the plot and concept may be a tad unbelievable at times but the strong acting brings it through and drags you in.
Medium (NBC) - Second season. Off the back of winning the Emmy for Best Actress, Patricia Arquette is still working hard and the show is getting better week by week.

TUESDAY:
The Amazing Race: Family Edition (CBS) - Yet again the best reality show on TV is excellent. Not the best I've seen it but still alot better than anything else on.
Supernatural (WB) - Another new show this year. Another picked up for the full season. Excellent horror/thriller show based deeply in mythology from one of the original producers of X-Files.
My Name is Earl (NBC) - Jason Lee is Earl in this brand new comedy, picked up for full season also. This is the often hilarious story of ex-criminal Earl making up for the bad things he has done.
The Office (NBC) - Second season. Getting funnier each episode, hopefully the ratings will pick so it doesn't get cancelled this year.
World Series of Poker: Main Event (ESPN) - This show is worth it alone for Phil Helmeuth getting pissed off at people for not playing like professional and beating him.
The Real World: Austin (MTV) - This is like a car wreck, you just can't drag your eyes away

WEDNESDAY:
Bones (Fox) - New show. Bringing David Boreanaz back to the small screen. Another show that picked up for a full run has been okay so far, enough to keep me watching.
Lost (ABC) - Second season. THE show to watch right now.
Invasion (ABC) - New show. Following in after Lost. Pretty good so far although nothing really groundbreaking.
Martha: The Apprentice (NBC) - New show. Not quite the Donald.

THURSDAY:
Survivor: Guatemala (CBS) - Unbelievebly physical season this year as competitors compete in 114 degree heat.
The Apprentice (NBS) - The Donald is still going strong with another fresh batch of applicants this year
Night Stalker (ABC) - ABC's remake of the classic Darren McGavin show that inspired the X-Files. Some scares and thrills can be found.
Celebrity Poker Showdown (Bravo) - Dave Foley brings another run of this often funny poker show to TV. B-list stars fight it out for charity.
The Showbiz Show with David Spade (Comedy Central) - Spade expands the SNL Hollywood minute to about 22 minutes. Very funny at times.

FRIDAY:
Nothing worth my time. Yet.

SATURDAY:
See above

SUNDAY:
Desperate Housewives (ABC) - Second season. A slow start this year, but still better than a load of other shows out there
Grey's Anatomy (ABC) - Second season. A mid-season replacement last year is now a great show to watch.

SHOWS I SHOULD BE WATCHING:
Smallville, Alias, CSI, Two and a Half Men, ER, Nip/Tuck, Rescue Me, Veronica Mars.

OZARK'S TOP 250 MOVIES: #160-#151

#160 - Equilibrium (2002)
Christian Bale kicks it Matrix-style in this totalitarian future where people aren't allowed to have emotions as it can lead to violence. He plays an enforcer of the law trained in a style of martial-arts that involves gun play.

#159 - Oldboy (2003)
Chan-wook Park's second film in his vengeance trilogy is a landmark movie in Korean cinema. A daring, disturbing, violent, bizarre and multi-layered plot pulls the viewer in, with a final twist that will leave you stunned. And from what I hear this isn't even his best movie.

#158 - Collateral (2004)
For the first time in 10 years Tom Cruise gets to play evil, the last time was as Lestat in Interview with a Vampire. With this performance he blows away anything he has done before. He is cold, ruthless and detached, the only thing better than him is Jamie Foxx who is a revelation in his role as the cab driver dragged into the killer's world.

#157 - Death and the Maiden (1994)
This movie is all about the acting. Sigourney Weaver and Ben Kingsley are the only actors on screen for the majority of this movie. As Weaver plays a woman who is convinced that her guest (Kingsley) is a man who tortured her for the goverment. She in turn returns the favor.

#156 - Caddyshack (1980)
It is the supporting characters in this movie that really make it what it is. Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield and Ted Knight are the real comedic stars.
"This crowd has gone deadly silent, a Cinderella story outta nowhere. Former greenskeeper and now about to become the masters champion."

#155 - The Rock (1996)
This is Michael Bay's finest. On the surface it is yet another one of his flashy MTV-stylised action flicks. But this movie is so much fun that you barely notice and you are taken on the ride. Cage and Connery have one of the best buddy movie chemistry ever.
"Gentlemen. Welcome to the Rock!"

#154 & #153 - Toy Story (1995), Toy Story 2 (1999)
It's hard to seperate these two. Toy Story is PIXAR's first full lenght CGI adventure it is original, fresh and funny. Whilst the sequel went further with the in-jokes and great lines.

#152 - Stand By Me (1986)
A great adaptation of the Stephen King novella 'The Body'. Featuring some great performances from kid actors - Corey Feldman (before the drugs), Jerry O'Connell (before he was slim) and Wil Weaton (before he was nobody).

#151 - An American Werewolf in London (1981)
The story of the stupid Americans ;) who doesn't listen to the yokels at an english pub warning them not to go on the moors. What follows is at times very scary and often darkly funny. Plus there is that incredible transformation scene still amazing to watch almost 15 years later.
