Long time reader. First time blogger

I don't know quite know what I'm going to be putting it this blog yet.. maybe some movie reviews or whatnot. Anyway what inspired me to even start in this first place is what is happening right now.....

You see much loss in the world right now. My heart goes out to anyone who has lost people in their lives in recent tragedies. For I know that if I lost anyone in my family, my heart would break.. although I think I could be strong and go on I know I would find it so incredibly hard. Even just the thought makes me weak.

I just have to comment on what Kanye West said last night on the NBC telethon. He is intitled to his own opinion, as is everyone, but I feel he used the wrong forum. That telethon wasn't about verbal attacks on the president, it was about the bringing together of a nation to raise money to help out these poor people.

"I hate the way they portray us in the media. If you see a black family, it says they're looting. See a white family, it says they're looking for food." - The stories that caused his words were from two different newsgroups, two different people. Mr West's statements blame the media as a whole for the portrayal of blacks and whites in different stories. It's like us all saying NBC hates the president because of Mr West's statement on their network.

Another thing - It's okay for CNN to broadcast a segment in which irate New Orleans are chanting 'Fuck the mayor' (can't remember his name), but CBS gets lambasted for Janet's nipple.

I'm just waiting for Jack Thompson or Hillary Clinton to blame it all on violence in video games.. but that's another story
